I'm Noemi Blumenthal, a portrait photographer based right here in Woodbridge, Connecticut. I photograph families across New Haven County in a style that's warm, natural, and a little editorial, the kind of images that feel less like a stiff photoshoot and more like an evening with your people that happened to be beautifully documented.
My background is in magazine editorial work, where I spent years directing shoots, styling, and learning how to make people feel at ease in front of a camera. What a session with me looks like
Family sessions are relaxed and unhurried. We'll usually shoot in the golden hour before sunset, when the light is soft and flattering, either at your home, a meaningful location, or one of the beautiful natural spots around Woodbridge and New Haven County. I love photographing local families along the trails at Alice Newton Street Memorial Park and around the shoreline. I'll guide you with gentle direction and posing, so you never have to wonder what to do with your hands or where to look. The goal is for it to feel easy, even fun, especially for the little ones.
I work hard to make children comfortable, because the best family photos happen when everyone is genuinely enjoying themselves. If you have a shy toddler or a teenager who hates having their picture taken, I've got you. Half of good family photography is patience and warmth, and I have plenty of both.

Every session includes a gallery of professionally edited, high-resolution digital images delivered through an online gallery you can download, share, and print from. I hand-edit every image in my signature style, never batch-processed or rushed. Prints, albums, and wall art are also available if you'd like to hold your photographs in your hands or display them in your home, and I'm always happy to help you choose.
Styling and what to wear
One of my favorite parts of the process is helping you plan. I style my sessions around soft, neutral tones, creams, oatmeal, sand, dusty blues, and warm greys, because these colors photograph beautifully and keep the focus on your family rather than competing with busy patterns. Once you book, I'll send a questionnaire and I'm always available to help you pull looks together.

How long is a family session? Most family sessions run 60 to 90 minutes, which gives us time to settle in, capture a variety of groupings, and let the kids warm up.
When is the best time to shoot? I recommend the 1.5 to 2 hours before sunset, when the light is at its most beautiful. We'll plan your start time around that.
What if the weather doesn't cooperate? For outdoor sessions, if the weather looks unsuitable, I'll reach out to reschedule at no penalty.
How many photos will we receive, and when? You'll receive a gallery of professionally edited images, typically delivered within two to three weeks of your session.
